CDRA Philippines exists to make the Climate and Disaster Risk Assessment process understandable to the people who have to carry it out.
What this is
CDRA Philippines is a module of SmartCity.ph, an independent knowledge platform on Philippine smart cities. It explains what a Climate and Disaster Risk Assessment is, how it is carried out, and how its findings reach a Comprehensive Land Use Plan — and it demonstrates the whole chain on a fictional municipality.
What this is not
This is not an official application of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development, USAID, PAGASA, PHIVOLCS, the Mines and Geosciences Bureau, or any other agency. Nothing here is endorsed by them, no submission made here reaches them, and this platform confers no approval or compliance status of any kind.
It is also not a source of Philippine risk data. No real hazard maps, population figures, or risk statistics for any actual locality are published here. Where a real reference document is listed, it is identified by issuing agency and linked to that agency's own source so you can read the original.
About the demo data
The Municipality of Bayanihan, its ten barangays, its hazard layers, exposure counts, risk scores, decision areas, and interventions are all invented. They are shaped to resemble real CDRA and GIS records so that the structure is instructive, but every value is fictional and labelled as demo data wherever it appears.
Who it is for
Local planning and development officers, disaster risk reduction officers, engineering and agriculture offices, barangay officials, planning consultants, and students of urban planning who need the process explained without wading through a full guidebook first.
Corrections
If something here misstates the process or cites a superseded issuance, we would rather know. SmartCity.ph publishes corrections rather than leaving errors in place.
